# 1 Might Surprise You. Don’t Ignore It

You won't like these five places God allows your Enemy to strike both soul & sanity. But # 1...

There’s a path to true worship, like it or not. I don’t! But like Paul, I’ve learned by experience that brute force, natural ability, zeal or sincerity cannot produce what hardship can (Phil 4:12-13).

The mountain tops of the Christian life are amazing, but it’s in the valleys that God’s asks an important question: Will you worship Me here? God wrote the book of Job to ask you this question.

Here’s a reality we cannot escape: The pathway to holiness is – well – hardship. Those God exalts He also humbles. What great person in the Bible has not suffered? Joseph? David? John? Jesus?

Hurts, hardships, humiliations, harassments; the painful “how longs!” and “how comes!” are normal – yes, normal – if we choose to grow in Christ (1 Peter 5:8-10).

Our Enemy the Devil knows this and does all he can to cause you to curse God and quit. Don’t!

Here are five places you can be sure Satan seeks to attack, and that God may allow:

1.  Job 1:13-17. To cause godly Job to curse, Satan’s first choice for attack is on the Finances. For some, a sense of security comes from materialism instead of God.

2.  Job 1:18-19. Then He ruthlessly goes after the people we care about most, our Family. We lose a loved one, they walk away from God, or our spouse suffers miserably…

3.  Job 2:7. Satan’s losing 2 - 0. So next up, attack your sense of Physical well-being – your Flesh.

4. Job 2:8-10. Feelings are a pour guide, especially when we “feel” like a fool. Satan knows this! He doesn’t just work on your feelings; he’s also working on the feelings of those around you.

5. Job 2:11. The rest of the book of Job centers around Satan’s final strategy – your Friends! They’re not always helpful and can say the worst things at the worst time with good intentions!

Which strategy is Satan using in your life right now? If he’s not, save this, you’ll need it later!

Whatever hardship you’re facing, Satan may be behind it. But so is God. I don’t blame Job’s wife; she’s struggling too and handling it differently.

God took Job (and his wife) to the valley to ask that important question. Job made his choice (Job 1:20-22). What’s yours? When God asks in the struggles, “Will you worship me here?”, say yes.

Job started and ended on the mountain but in between was a long valley. Your last chapter hasn’t been written, but when it is, it will be worth it when you chose to worship no matter what (Job 42:12)!
