🙌🏼🏆 Book Project Progress. Thank you to all who are taking interest, reaching out and sending encouragement. You’re the best! The outline is finished and the rough draft well under way. The goal is ~50-60,000 words by April 28th.

I’m writing to those who struggle to pick up and read the Bible consistently and find it a bit intimidating or overwhelming when they do. Others just don’t get much out of it when they read or it doesn’t make sense. It’s for those who want to align their beliefs with Scripture not what others say and need to learn how to do that. It for those who want to enjoy and engage more with the Bible. Stay tuned!

If any of this sounds like you, reply and let me know what makes your Bible time challenging. I’d love to hear from you and it might help make this book even better.

Enjoy today’s read!

Before jumping in, reading this passage will help you get more out of today’s read 1 Chr. 21:18-30.

One of the ways I loved getting my children involved in something I was doing was to tell them “I needed some help” carrying a box.

I’d struggle and strain, moan and groan, and distort my face. They’d run to help me lift the box and suddenly the job was “easy” and I was “grateful”.

They were sure I couldn’t have done it without them, and it got them involved in a greater plan I was working.

I wanted them to help others, be involved, use their resources to make an impact.

God does that with you and me too.

He doesn’t need our “help”, He’s God! But He will make it seem that way because He’s working a greater plan long before we get involved.

Maybe it’s a sudden realization you need to pitch in and help, volunteer somewhere, or step into the struggle of another.

You might have a flash of inspiration to build something and seem to have what it takes to get it done.

It could be you’ve been taking ease when you should be shifting your priorities from what you want to be or do toward what God’s want you to be or do.

For king Solomon, he wanted to build God a house. He saw the need, had the inspiration and resources then shifted his priorities. And the job got done easier than expected.

Here’s where it gets fun.

You’d almost think Solomon came up with the idea. In 2 Chr. 3:1 we’re told the place is “in mount Moriah”.

Can you hear him say, “Look what I’m doing for you God and I found the perfect spot!”

Yet years earlier God met David in this same place and commanded a sacrifice to stop the sword of justice and judgment for his sin.

David was just doing what he was told. And his son Solomon was just trying to help.

We do that too.

Yet long before Solomon and long before David God told another father to “help Him” and go to a mount He would show him to sacrifice his son. Would you like to guess where?

Gen. 22:1-19. Mount Moriah is the place a father named Abraham was told to sacrifice his only son Isaac.

It’s the place a son willingly carried wood up the hill and when told by his father, laid down to be sacrificed.

It’s also the place a different Son named Jesus did the same for you and me in the same place now called Calvary. Our sin judged and the hand of justice against us stopped.

Here’s the thing. God doesn’t need your help. Yet He invites you into His plan even if you don’t understand, see how, or know He’s doing it.

It might set in motion events that are life-changing and life-giving like a mount called Moriah that Abraham saw afar off and Jesus willingly climbed with wood for you and me.

So, what’s that thing you need to start doing, get involved in, use your resources to help accomplish, or shift your priorities so you can begin?

God “needs your help” and was way out in front with a plan. Put your hands on the box.
