My Threads feed has been flowing with testimonies. It seems like the events of the past couple weeks have turned hearts back toward the Lord. This reminds me of Nehemiah.

When Christ is restored to the center of our lives, we recall His commitment to us and renew our commitment to Him. Fear seems to be taking a back seat right now.

One way to recover commitment to Jesus is to recall your salvation history. While there is only one way to be saved, there are many different stories about how we were saved.

Here In Neh. 9, God’s people are reminded of their lives before, during, and after God’s rescue on their behalf. V. 11-12 recounts one significant part of their story.

We’ll recover praise for God when we recall His presence in those perilous moments in our salvation story. If He’s done it in the past, He can do it again today —and tomorrow!

Revisit when God rescued you from sin, from yourself, and those many storms and “situations”, then go and tell others. There’s no need to be silent about your salvation.

Pharaoh was an imposing figure whom God’s people feared. Yet God took what they feared and cast it like a stone into the sea. No trouble we face is too tough for Jesus.

Find Him in your fear and you’ll have His presence and the peace to move forward.

If God wants to, He can part a problem as big as the Red Sea and cause you to walk on dry ground. If not, He can simply cause you to walk on water to go to Jesus (Mt. 14:29)!

Your biggest problem is not your persecutor or predicament (some Pharaoh or fear). It’s not seeing a providential and powerful God in the midst of it. (I love this passage)

When we recall how we can trust God we recover firm footing, lose our inhibiting fears, and find once again the fire that leads us in the dark and cloudy pillar that leads by day.

Recent events have opened a way to share your salvation story. You’re on firm footing, have nothing to fear, and can trust that God will provide the fire as you take each step.

And if you don’t have a salvation history, now would be a great time to reach out to someone who does and let them show you what God did for them and will do for you.

I’ve added some gospel Scriptures to consider in the GO DEEPER section below.

Some Thoughts To Help You GO DEEPER with Today’s Message

Whether you’ve been thinking about God and the gospel for a while or early in your discovery, there’s something you should know.

God is personal, knowable, relational, life-giving and life changing. He has done something that calls for your response.

Some think they’re good enough to be saved and others feel that they’re too bad to be saved.

Yet Jesus reminds us that we all need to be saved and none of us are good enough to do it on our own or so bad we’re out of salvation’s reach. The gospel is a rescue that requires a response.

Here’s a few Scriptures to remind you of when Jesus rescued you. If that hasn’t happened yet, reply to this email and let me know so I can assist in helping you with questions you might have:

Isaiah 1:18

1 John 1:6-10

Romans 3:10, 19-28, 5:1, 8-9, 10:9-13, 2:4

 Galatians 2:16-21

Ephesians 2:1-10, 4:17-24

John 3:1-8, 16, 17-21, 36

Acts 26:1-23. The Apostle Paul’s Testimony. He gives a clear three-point outline that is a good template for sharing your salvation story. See if you can find it.

He’ll give his Past (before salvation), Point of conversion (what happened to cause him to repent and believe), and the Proof (what changed and what God is doing in his life since his conversion). Have fun with it as you recall your story.

Cheering for you!
