Before jumping in, you’ll get more out of this post if you read 2 Corinthians 3 first.
When she walked up the driveway of our little farm out in the “middle of nowhere” on that rainy day Lorie had questions and started to cry.
Homeschooling four children, keeping the farm, a huge garden and our home open to impromptu fellowship and visits from those in our church kept her busy.
But that’s not why she cried!
Lorie was hungry to engage in meaningful evangelism and had been praying for an opportunity amidst the beautiful busyness of family and church life.
She had prayed, “Lord, bring someone to me who needs the gospel. I need to be home and can’t go out there. Please bring them to me.”
Well, up the driveway she walked on that rainy evening.
As the young woman stood there shaking, crying, and desperate, her words were unforgettable.
“How do I get what you have? I need what you have”!
Once inside, Lorie listened to her story in the comfort of our home.
The woman had visited our church and a weeklong annual family camp meeting. We’d move church to our farm for a week of camping, preaching, and fellowship.
Oh, the memories!
She happened to visit and got a taste of something she’d never experienced and was hungry for more.
It wasn’t religion – she had that.
It was what the gospel does to people who believe it and receive it, then seek to live it out in the messiness of life. Just like Paul said in 2 Cor. 3:1-3.
Our “version” of Christianity was far from perfect and oh could I tell stories! But it was also far from hers and she was missing the gospel part and didn’t even know it.
At least not until she “saw” it in the lives of some others who did know it.
When we choose to live out the gospel as genuinely as we presently understand it, who knows what impact it might have on others.
But we’ll never know until we choose to be living epistles on mission to make manifest what the gospel is and does to people like you and me (2 Cor. 4:1-12).
When we pull the veil away as Paul said here, and pray like Lorie did from home, we can all be in the ministry no matter what season or situation in life we find ourselves.
You don’t need more “how to” to reach others with the gospel, just more “heart to”. When you have a gospel worth making visible, others will be compelled to come.
A little prayer from your “middle of nowhere” just might compel some desperate seeking soul to stop by on a rainy day and make you cry too!
So, here’s my question to you. What has the gospel done for you that can be made more visible so others will be compelled to come? If you’re willing to share your story, Lorie and I would love to hear it. Just send us a Reply to this email.

Surgery Recovery Starts Before Surgery
Many patients prepare extensively for the procedure itself — but recovery preparation often gets overlooked.
Healing increases demand for nutrients involved in tissue repair, immune support, collagen production, and recovery. HealFast was designed specifically to support the body before and after surgery with physician-formulated nutritional support created for the recovery process.
Instead of scrambling afterward, many patients now prepare for recovery before surgery even happens.
Because supporting recovery starts long before the procedure is over.
If you benefit from this ministry you can add your support. Thank you!
